Repairs with Automotive Tools

Have you had a breakdown and need a visit from a service engineer? At Automotive Tools we have Garage Equipment Association – approved engineers that can come to your site, diagnose, and repair your OMCN equipment using spares we keep in stock. This way, we can ensure the lift is repaired correctly and we can keep your downtime to a minimum because you won’t be waiting around for spare parts.

However, if you would like to repair it yourself, we can send out the spare parts you require. Once you have identified which spare parts are needed to fix the lifting equipment, let us know and we will despatch out the spares required to complete the fix.

Insurance inspections

If your lift does not comply with health and safety regulations it can be condemned by an insurance inspector. Common problems that often lead to this include missing toe guards and worn out or damaged rubber pads, which are easily replaceable when the spares are available.

A more in-depth and time-consuming problem comes when the load nuts on a lift are ‘worn’ and need replacing. If an insurance inspector has recommended replacing the nuts, it is wise to have an engineer check the wear as the markers can be inaccurate. Wear rods can be knocked and twisted, or even set up incorrectly during previous lift maintenance.
