If you are currently using Oxy-Acetylene to heat seized or rusted parts in your garages – STOP and look at a SAFE, more effective alternative.

What are Induction Heaters?

Induction Heaters are quickly becoming the tool of choice for technicians looking to remove a seized or rusted part due to corrosion, or to remove parts bonded by thread lock compounds.

Preciously a technician may have to turn to torches and open flames to tackle these types of jobs but more and more people are turning to Induction Heaters instead.

How do Induction Heaters work?

Much in the same way that induction hobs work in the home, Induction Heaters work by creating localised circulating electric currents within a magnetic field which affect electrically conducive materials. Heat is transferred from the tool to the specified area without having to come into direct contact with each other. Good electronic conductors such as metals are quickly and easily heated, allowing heating, softening or bonding.

Uses of Induction Heaters?

As we have mentioned, common uses for Induction Heater include helping to unbond seized, glued or rusted parts. But they can also be used for a variety of tasks including bending many types of metals, removing adhesives, soldering, and defrosting.

They are particularly appropriate for use in automotive garages and workshops to be used on a variety of materials.

Why choose Induction Heaters?

Induction heaters are a quick, simple and safe means of applying heat to a specific area.

The are also they are cheap to run as they use electric, are energy efficient and reduce the need for expensive gasses and training on how to use safely. Heating via induction also reduces wasted heat, with the energy being directly transferred to the area being heated. This also protects the materials surrounding the target area, ensuring that they are not affected by the nearby heat source. Particularly flammable elements such as plastics or rubber.

Most Induction Heaters are also lightweight, compact, portable and easy to use. Making them the perfect choice for garages and workshops.

Health & Safety

Probably the most important reason to switch from flame to induction heat is the safety element. Oxy-Acetylene torches can cause unwanted damage, they are a Health & Safety risk and can cause injury. Induction heat is concentrated, accurate, and negates the need for dangerous and potentially harmful open flames.

Insurance costs

Induction Heaters completely remove the need for Oxy-Acetylene and open flames, eliminating many safety hazards, which in turn can reduce insurance costs for businesses dramatically. By getting rid of Oxy-Acetylene bottles from your garage or workshop it could reduce insurance costs by up to 30%.

Time saving

The tool can easily get into those hard-to-reach areas that a flame cannot. There is no need to protect the surrounding areas and because it uses electricity to heat it can get up to high temperatures in a matter of seconds.

Environmentally friendly

By using electricity rather than gasses and fossil fuels Induction heaters are a clean and environmentally friendly way of heat-treating.

Because it only heats when applied to a surface the tools can be left on in between individual jobs and uses. They also remove the need for warm up and cool down time and do not expend gases into the atmosphere.
